Untitled, 2025 (SOLD)

These two paintings are highly textured, embodying the strong emphasis on materiality and surface that I enjoy. I've incorporated many of my preferred techniques and processes that have been developed over years of experimentation.

Both paintings sit vertically and share a deep, reddish, rust-like colour that suggests a hint to organic matter or oxidised metal. They've been described as flesh-like by audiences.

The surfaces are heavily built up, with thick, sculptural areas protruding from the canvas. Some areas are more raised that others, with smoother sections contrasting against the clusters of clay forms that viewers have said resemble mushrooms or barnacles.

Up close, the works feel visceral and bodily but also geological, you could compare them to eroded terrain or organic matter under natural decomposition.
